Is This Life

By cre

Is this life, this silent hurting
This way of hiding, life averting
Living lies that never please
Losing dreams upon a breeze
Watching sunlight ever fading
Pain for numbness, always trading

Is this life, this black hole forming
Chaos lost in fury storming
Hatred screaming out at night
Shadows stealing from the light
Seeping death forever growing
Always creeping, always flowing

Is this life, this barely breathing
Pain and turmoil, always seething
Caught within the devil's snare
Heart ripped open left so bare
Feel the pain ever burning
Ripping souls out in its churning

Is this life, this never feeling
Always bowing, always kneeling
Fit for one thing; that's their slave
This isn't life this living grave
Feel the chains, clanking, clinking
Stupid girl what were you thinking

Is this life, this slowly dying
No more tears so no more crying
No more person no more soul
In the end they've reached their goal
It was death that they were giving
It was never life, and never living.

It sounded like I was reading Poe there for a moment. The rhymne scheme reminded me of his style. Another great expression.
