My Bittersweet End

By tormentedsoul666

Lurking in the shadows,
My shadows, my home.
Sit here longing,
To be left alone.
In the shadows watching,
I see them all.
Always seem so happy,
Even when they fall.
I laugh when they go down,
Falling to their knees.
I silently reject them,
As they beg and ask to please.
This is how I work,
No pity for the fake.
I listen to them cry,
And laugh at the sounds they make.
This is the way I live,
I don't make it up or lie.
My life I live in silence,
But you still don't understand why.
I've made myself this way,
Hiding,I always look lost.
My heart is now ice cold,
Covered in layers of frost.
Great loss has made me cold,
No longer wanting to be held.
I hide everything inside,
All emotions have been welled.
Run around the corner,
Hiding from my past.
Breath caught in my throat,
Just pray this is my last.
Any icy mist falls 'round me,
Feeling nothing but the cold.
I search frantically around me,
As an icy fist grabs hold.
I realize then,
My time has come.
I close my eyes,
My life is done.
I sigh to myself,
Time goes by fast.
I smile into death's grip,
My time has come at last.

Forever long,
Death is my friend.
I laugh in spite of,
My Bittersweet End.
