All In Vain

She sits and she waits,
Waits for you to come home.
Everynight she's disappointed,
When you leave her alone.
She sits at the window,
Watches the storm ahead.
And then she wonders,
Maybe you're not dead.
And this she prays for,
Every single night.
And when she wakes up,
She hopes to see your light.
But then she wonders,
What if it's not true.
She frightened by the thought,
Of never being with you.
So then she goes out to the bridge,
To make her wish come true.
She leaps off the bridge,
She did it just for you.
And as she is falling,
She prays with all her heart.
She prays to her god,
"Never let us be apart".
It turns out that she,
Did it all in vain.
She left this world,
Never to love again.
