Coming Down

By Syn

An Ode To Myself...about myself.

once you die
you no longer bleed
and crimson drains
out from your dreams

the scratches fade
leaving scars
the bruises turn
into who you are

the trek is done
and you realize that
nothing matters
but what youve had

its too late now
to turn around
as silent screams
drift from your mouth

its too late now
to say goodbye
as you wipe dry
tears from your eyes

its too late now
to close your eyes
as you pick up
the dirty knife

its too late now
to breathe the air
in hopes that I
will always be here

its too late now
to dream of life
and reckon with
abandoned lies

its too late now
its too late

"Every breathe leaves us one less to our last.." Dream Theater lyric.. your words were quite unnerving and stalking. The repetative "It's too late" brought that feeling home well.. -Michael

the format was a bit choppy in a sense, but the content was excellent! it reminds me exactly of how i feel, are you sure it wasn't an ode to me? lofl. ^Autumn^

In the choppiness, I wanted to create somewhat of an uncomfortable feeling...Did it work?

  • A former member wrote: Yes, it worked. I think you did a great job.
