The Moon and Mars (Fantsay)

By darkness_descends

My dismal reality,
Is becoming too god damn frustrating.
Surrounded by chaos and madness,
Filled with deepening sadness.
Stuck in a world I'll never miss,
So I reach for an unattainable solace.
My one impossible fantasy,
A momentary escape from reality...

Just you and me on a rocket ship,
Let's fly away from all the bullshit,
Escape from every little pain,
Just for a couple of days.

We could fly to the moon and mars,
Or to Venus and the stars.
Stare back down to earth, and reminisce,
Suspended in cosmic bliss.

We could just look at it all,
Jaws open with awe...
Looking at the stardust and comets,
As we peacefully sit.
Seeing the galaxy,
In it's untouched beauty...

But back to reality,
It's only a fantasy.
An escape that changed my day,
And put a smile on my face.

well done, loved it... for some reason i was reminded of the old frank sinatra ballad "fly me to the moon, and let me dance among the stars, show me what life is like, on jupiter and mars, in other words, darling kiss me, in other words, hold my hand" have you ever heard it? Scholar
