The Same Street as Before

By -Oz-

i'm only kinda sure
when i think about the future
my life just drags on
i can walk down the same street
the walls around me change
but i don't notice
the snow can fall
the leaves can grow, and die
the flowers can bloom, and wilt
but there's nothing
nothing there for me

what is it going to be like
when i stop walking
as my nostalgic self

the clock may bleed years
when my heart only bleeds seconds
so much time to waist
in such a short life
it just won't go by fast enough

something to live for
is what i'm waiting for
nothing to think about
nothing to do
just walk down the same street as before
and watch your feet
as the world changes around you

excellent write on a feeling thats very hard to pin down properly ... but you nailed it well ... "... watch your feet as the world changes around you " ... that line , drove it home completely .. simply exceptional work here ... funguy

stuck...sometimes the world changing around you gives you a reason to change...or something to live for...the fact that you are searching for something puts you on a higher level than a lot of people who would be content to walk that same street forever.
