shattered wine glass

By -Oz-

a special candle lit dinner
a beautiful lace table cloth
some lite music in the backaround to set a calm mood
red wine in a bucket of ice, chilling
a roast chicken, waiting to be carved
a knife set aside from it
shuffled papers on the couch, not to be seen by other eyes

blood everywhere
an arm swings,
hitting a wine glass
half full,
half empty
red wine slips not a drop from the glass
the glass hits the tiled floor
half the glass shatters
it bleeds bitter wine
swirving around the lipstick soaked shatters of glass
soon crept upon by the puddle of blood
mixing together, thin and thick
hiding the spill of wine with the womans bloodied silk glove
they seep together, into the tiles, together
then joined by another
new blood
a man's this time
all three join as one
forever and always
hiding in the cracks of the floor

for upon those thin sheets of paper was a detective report
the woman, not married, but engaged,
was cheating...

I agree with Tim, a spectacular piece. I could see the whole thing playing out in my head clear as day. Fantastic work. ~L
