the play

The Play

She was lost and in need
of a place to rest and feed,
a temporary refuge,
some form of shelter from the storm.
The show had lasted much too long
and she was too tired to perfom.

The many charachters that she played
have all grown old and grayed
while the audience slept through the show.
Little does her fellow actors know
how she prays for the curtain to fall
and bring an end to this tragic comedy, once and for all.

But the play continues to go on,
even after the audience awakens, applauds,
shuffles out the doors and are gone
Thus is life upon the stage,
another act, another page,
another day trapped in her cage
and still the stom does rage.
