xvi: Hex

By Feral

\\\

.Interrupt.

///

I come to sentience, a sudden gash,
a wound, a reckoning,
laughing to myself in the rapture of a monarch swarm.

Uproarious, cacophonous, existing for no other purpose
than to gnaw, jaws agape: claws tearing asunder
and forming anew -

a desire
to live.

Fully present and inhabiting this mind, this body -
the sheer fucking love and glory of being alive
at its most primal,
most vulnerable.
Most precious.

I may be drowning, but my willpower is a
transfiguring force.

A sobering fight and desire fitted to strong lines. When they tell you you can't... reply... 'Watch me." Well done.

…I sense something deeply dire here. I keep coming back to this, and can’t quite shake this feeling… that something immense is moving, heaving behind these words, unseen yet piercingly felt, something dangerous, something deadly. Despite the uplifting of the final line, this weighs so heavily upon me. So heavily. My will to protect is growling, viciously. ~b

Captures the on-point premise of life being this unknown and powerful force that can help us overcome even the greatest challenges by tearing things apart and creating anew, in my opinion anyhow... A quality write indeed. Cheers.
