Little Drummer Boy

By LittleMissScareAll

Drum drum drum
Little drummer boy, drum
Do you hear the marching sounds pound?
Do you hear the screams?
For you try not to hear anything
Blocking out the sound with your drum
Little drummer boy
Drum drum drum
The little drummer boy drums
To drown out the deafening death and destruction.
Drowning out your tears and thoughts
Only focusing on the drums pound
Thrum thrum thrum
Little drummer boy
Do you hear your heart thrum?
Do you hear the quiet on the field?
Do you hear your heart stop?
Your drum on the ground
Your blood spilled, your body drowns.

I like this. Although I'm sure you have a specific person or idea in mind for this, the psychological implications within this apply to a lot of people blocking out the world around them. Great perspective, well done!

I appreciate it~ I honestly did not have anyone in mind, to be honest, I don't even remember what inspired this but whatever did or whoever I had in mind while subconsciously writing this, I thank them as well.
