The Way of the World

Slowy I die
Watching seconds go by
And with the passing of each day
Another part of me goes away

I stare in horror and in silence
At the world engulfed in violence
Happiness is forsaken
Love and life taken

The world is dying but still it lives
But death is the only promise it gives
No one seems to care
No one sheds a tear

Hope is helpless so no one dreams
The night is filled with screams
Constantly living nightmares
Cries of help no one hears

Humanity's grip on morality is lost
Pleasure and joy comes with a cost
And the payment is pain
Problems come with no one to explain

Life passes with time and days
Forgotten it fades away
