Conqueror's Witness

By themasterhunter

The dawn breaks-

A figure in gold

May the story unfold

And glimpse ourselves

In mirrors of paper.

Cry Havoc And Let Slip The Dogs Of War!

-a relic of ages past

When the mind was an immutable guardian

And blood was shed in honor

May my armor burn me in this-

When the dawn breaks again

May the sun's rays sear my flesh

And scar me

I do not wish for this wanton wartime

My mind questions my every step,

And I shudder with the implications of violence

That a conquered nation sings

For if taught and taken by blade-

When taught by the corrupted scholars of war-

What nation wouldn't wish to prove something

Beyond a simple existence.

A nation brought to its knees

By the blade it forged in revolution

Split in two

By ceaseless squabble.

Fathers may die and their morals with them

But no son shall be spared

In this endless rage

We call home.
