A Warm Drink

By Commander_Cadaver

Hoody zipped all the way up,
Hood pulled up and tightened
To try and fight the cold
Temperatures of this
Chilly late fall weather.

Winds whip around,
The chill seeping through
My thin cargo pants
And even through my hoody.
The spent casings I use
As gauges in my left
Earlobe sting from the cold.
Shelter.
Warmth.
A warm drink.
I need these things
Before my body cries
And complains in such
An aching anguish.

I enter a small bar on
The corner of a half street
And sit down before
Rubbing my hands together.
Never have I felt so cold
Before.
But alas, things change without
Warning.

My eyes wander the smokey,
Amber lit room and my eyes
Fall on hers.
Bright green eyes stare into
My cold blue eyes.
She searches for something,
I can feel it.
My cheeks start to warm up
A bit as I feel myself start to blush.
Blush?
Why am I blushing?

As I ponder this development,
I'm greeted with a tap on
The shoulder from behind.
Turning around,
I spy skin so pale,
Even in this dimly lit room
I look up and spy those green
Eyes once more but this time
They are just inches from mine.

A small smile breaks across
The freckled face that the eyes
Belong to.
"Why the blushing cheeks?",
She asks, making me blush
Even harder.
Damn it.
What the Hell is going on?
"I uh umm uh, I..."
Taking a deep breath,
I try to speak again.
"It's not blushing. Just red
From the chill of today."
She giggles a bit,
Oh such an angelic sound.

"I'll let it slide for now,
Mr. Blush.
I'm Autumn."
An awkward smile spreads
On my face.
"Nice to meet you, Autumn.
My name is ******."
We shake hands and grab a drink.

Hours and hours pass
But time seems to stand still
As we talk over some bourbon.
Her eyes entrap me,
Snare me,
Hold me from escaping.
I must know her more.
So I take her back to my place
For that warm drink I wanted.

At my place, we continue
Talking before I can't hold back
Any longer and lean in to
Kiss her neck.
She moans in unexpected pleasure.
I close my eyes and kiss her
Neck a few more times,
Feeling her warm flesh shiver
Slightly under my lips.
I can't take it.
I need her more than I thought.

I open my mouth as wide
As I could, exposing long
Canines before plunging
Them into her soft skin.
She lets out a scream of pain
And confusion
As I begin to suck her blood.
I hold her tightly in my arms
As I continue to drain her
Of the crimson fluid.
Such warm blood feeding
My inner darkness.

One more bite before realizing
That she ran dry.
Letting her body fall to the floor,
I lick my lips clean of every
Drop to satisfy my hunger.
Oh how warm,
How alive I feel
As blood rushes to my
Cheeks once more as I stare
Into her now dull green eyes.
"Thank you for the warm drink
On this cold Autumn day."
I chuckle at my dumb pun
And begin preparing to dispose
Of the lifeless body.
