The Last Night Of A Drunk Mans Wife

By Elizabeth kaczocha

You've done it.

You've finally done it.

You have broken me beyond repair.

I finally had to start thinking of me.

You went to far, and I don't want to die.

I had to remove you from my life.

I have to let go of my fear of being alone.

I've done what I must to preserve myself.

You may never understand, but this is over.

I have to look out for me now.

Goodbye.

Being around an alcoholic can be exhausting. Alcoholism is a far reaching disease that affects those around them. I know first hand. I've been sober for 6 years now. Best thing I ever did. Thanks fr sharing. JD

The fear you feel is your freedom to shape your own future... Before he shaped it without your consent... Now it is time for you to shine, don't you dare look behind, except to remind yourself WHY you left it all behind. --Great write.

Really good piece, it brings a very harsh topic to life. I'm sorry that this happened to you and others.
