Violent Vortex

By FearlessDragon

Emerald eyes once so bright slowly vanish,
Fading into the concave of their black hole cavums

Restless, diminished by their candle's glow blown to smoke,
Not a trace nor flint or flicker left of flame,
Just the burning rage
Beneath the brim

A presence felt of something former
Now laid to waste,
A familiar friend stained in hate, compassion raped,
A twisted shape of love once lush
Laced in plague,

Turned breath to dust.

There's such beautiful imagery in this. It sucks when someone you once loved turns into someone you don't even recognize. I had a few people in mind when reading this.
