Enmeshed In Darkness (Purp's greatest hits)

By Purposelessness

Burn in hell our mothers cry,
As we stand in the cold and shiver
You're not mine our fathers lie,
As the rain beats out a quiver

I am the mammoth and the flea
I am the spider and the fly
I am the death in your eye,
As you are in mine

I see the sun, but my heart won't mend
I've seen my end, my almost friend
All my pain is all of yours,
All your wounds are all my sores

We repeat our lives and days and death,
Ever here with one more breath
I see myself in all these dreams,
Drowned again in shallow streams
But I'll never be reborn like you
Never evergreen, nor grown anew

Stanza 1: King Lizard, The Folly of Faith
Stanza 2: Purposelessness, A Bitter Release
Stanza 3: Human Again, The End
Stanza 4: Ever Here, "."(Haiku), Evergreen

Looking back at this, I wonder if I should have put stanza 3 first.

I say no because that first stanza is a call to arms and the rest flows perfectly to make this whole piece stand tall and sure amidst the pain. My opinion is it's already perfect. Scholar
