Rise

By Damien

Rise
throw away, the decay in your mind
change
one voice and it's not mine
I command you to
Rise
when the noose is untied
Shine
in your own light
far too long you've disguised
been denied
and lived your own lies
Now Rise
too late for why
the shallow follow the blind
there is only one life
and it's yours not mine
Rise
with fist held high
tyranny of government and socialistic confines
friends and lovers do not define
nor the roof or the wheels you drive
Rise
men can not control their wives
women abused for years at a time
kids whole life is an electronic device
Rise
Jesus Christ
nails in his hands...came alive
gave you a choice in this life
tear down one wall and put up another
then have the nerve to call me brother
poets, priests and politicians
mere words can cause division
Rise
money can not buy
al that remains is foolish pride
Rise
throw away, the decay in your mind
change
one voice and it's not mine
Now Rise

This reads like an anthem! Great lines throughout, loved the one with Jesus in it. Solid points here, too. Overall a tremendous write!
