Blood Wolf Moon

By Damien

What will become of us
the sun has foresaken us
how quickly life can drop away
and the earth cries out in pain
the hills have eyes
and the sea touches the sky

Ocean waves come rushing to sand
like threshing oars seeking land
war drums slowly beat in time
as the Typhon takes to the sky
the doors of Hades are openĀ
the gates of Heaven are closing
and the dead begin to rise

The ghost river bleeds into the sea
man is hunted in the kingdom of beasts
final warning, take heed
incredulous, impending doom
the rise of the Blood Wolf Moon

Hear the howling bloodlust tonight
forces of darkness and ancient might
he calls upon eternal impure light
standing on all four but walks as one
his path is singular, a slave to none
like a God of Herculean fame
leading the Cerberus on a chain
when the seas divide
and meteors collide
the Blood Wolf will rise
with glowing red eyes
taking our lives as his prize
incredulous, impending doom
the rise of the Blood Wolf Moon

This is rich with allusion. The last two lines of the first stanza and the opening lines of the second stanza really pulled me in, they feel the most complete. +tpu+

Reminds me of a song called "Freezing Moon." Very nice.
