...Terse Reflections

I listened to the notes of this song
Tried to calm myself before I was gone
Hoping the words would reveal
Some way to heal
Yet as the notes play
I find myself drifting further away
Echoing the thoughts that sway
Upon my lips they repose
Vivid & dire as I twist this piano wire
Reflections of happy moments in this place
These crevasses of ebon-gloom I face
I retrace the paths never taken in my mind
Darkness of too much reflection - - I'm exposed
My desolation grows
My love--We never took the time to blur the lines
Dreams of those we loved were left behind
Feel the terse wire slice my skin
Exposing the loss deep within
Burdened by reflections of perverse introflection
Poisons of a mind I’ve bent and broken
Hoarse is my voice of wishes, unspoken
I drift within dreams even as this piano wire screams
Burrowing in as it severs my last dream

In this murderous place, that we find love a fool, ultimately just a victim as it succumbs to a tool. Loving to grab everything that we can, we forget all the powers we hold in our hand. If loves just a taste of what I might bleed, eviscerate my soul & take-out what you need. Beautiful darling.

Here I sit at 3am reading words that burn in my throat. The anguish is palpable
