Traffic and Wedding Dates

By tmanzano

You turned too quickly.

I was half off the curb
when you did.

My foot hit the ground and
pulled back as fast.

You stretched yourself
around me
narrowly missing

I have the movie
in my head.

You looking at me
in slow motion

starring into me

hair whistling in the wind

half pulled out your
rolled down window.

Your hands

both on the wheel

gripped tight enough
to know you knew

you were close
to killing me.

You pressed
up against the door

in a hurry

for wherever
you were heading.

Your tic-tac's sliding
across the dash

crashing against the pillar.

We were caught
in mid-air

paused in the gravity

in as much
to find our feet
as our brakes.

Our mouths
slightly opened

as we screeched

in a rage
around our corners.

We almost changed
our lives forever.

A skillful blend of bodies in motion, and a near miss for a Mr. and a Miss. The driver and the driven. Cheers TM - Dan
