Dances with fireflies

By midnights voice

Dances with fireflies

She glides unto my conscious
twirling skirts . . .
flashing arms . . .
dancing with fireflies

Falling into summer's time
swirling waters . . .
thunderstorms . . .
kisses in corn fields

Waiting on September's promise
whirling ferris wheels . . .
state fairs . . .
wild turkeys over there

Still I search for that heartbeat
mirroring mine . . .
hurrying . . . caring . . .
daring

  • A former member wrote: Oh baby, I remember those days fondly! The fireflies would come out in droves right at dusk at my aunt's house. The photo is stunning, and the poem is like a soft breath on my eyes. Great job, darlin'. Rebs:).
