desert dancer

By Magdalena

you are a bird, gliding with the low cloud
a dancer on the desert sands
your witness becomes the breeze
you were never there, invisible mover

silent passion hidden on the rooftop
Kachina spirit, a wanting terpsichorean
scavengers below, creating war upon the broken
your freedom caught in their thunderstorm

you are loved through heroin eyes
your grasp on her is losing, sifting hourglass
ballerino
she cries inside, for your release
and your soul reflects, through her

underground impresario
you found your stage and took back your liberty.
