Ax to grind extended version

By molock

lost in the wilderness,
tryin' to find the forest
thru the trees.
i feel something close
behind,
watching....
judging my deeds....
when i turned to look,
the only thing i saw
was my shadow,
...mocking me.

with paranoia and
anxiety applied,
my mind's eye revealed
a plot to conquer and
divide.

but with every step,
the forest becomes more
undefined.
and I'm being weighed down,
...by this thorn in my pride.
it causes pain that invites the
skeletons memories to come
alive...
i keep runnin',
'cause there's nowhere left
to hide.
what ever is stalking me,
....can't be bargained with
or compromised.

the wheel starts spinning,
get an uneasy feeling
inside.
smote the stone with steel,
sparks begin to fly.
from the ashes,
another blade will rise.
there's no sense denying,
I'll always have an ax to
grind...
