Lake of lost life
By beamish
If my heart had hands I would hold you there
Covered in a blanket of my love
Protected from the ugly the world hurls on a daily bases
Never again letting any pain touch your face
Sacrificing my mortal soul in the pursuit of your happiness
You my angel are why
Why I live
Why I cry
Why I am willing to die
But even then I will hold you tight as I burn in a lake of lost life
A small penance to pay for the love I will never throw away
The love worth laughing at Hell's pain to keep you in my heart for just
another day

love a poem about self sacrifice for love, how many times am I willing to swim in a lake of lost life to keep my lover safe?

Big, bold words here. It's like a lyrical mission statement, and it gets the point across. Well done.

Never thought of it as a mission statement. But it's a good one to have. Thank you
