Daydream In Detail

By mikeygreenleaf

My spirit slowly slipping out
The cracks within my skin
Following my breath, you
Now escape me once again
This astral indiscretion leaves
Me sleepless and alone
If only faith believed in me
My dreams would have a home
With only you, but tell me
This companion that I seek
What comfort do you offer?
If I turned the other cheek
Rouse a riot with my sadness
Setting fire to my lust
That compels me to return
My ruined body into dust
Leave me to my desolation
Lose me in my emptiness
Just like sleeping beauty wake
My slumber with a lovers kiss
