to rage with love, for fun

By NikesRain

the fields have gone quiet
she shifts from one foot to the other
surveying the expanse slowly
as the rustling of memories traipses
gasping across the stones
crawling through the grass

... nothing grows here anymore

she turns and rolls her eyes at him
then resumes her surveying of the stillness

.... it's only sleeping

he pounds his fist upon the marble
growling his frustration

... you are blind to the loss
    stubborn as ever

she shifts from one foot to the other
shrugging then lifts her chin a little higher

.... maybe, but i can still see, even without my eyes
and no.... you will not win this one either

she can hear the tears of flowers
buried deep within the past
dormant and resting in fits
waiting for just a word to burst forth
twitching at the echoing footfalls
as he rises and paces in front of the throne

... maybe
    you're still impossible though

he sighs deep within his bones
then chuckles shaking his head

..... yes I am
but we're both okay with that fact

The King would see at the end of his empire, the beginning of something different. Ah to Victory, with wings spread against the encroaching hellfire. You are prolific as ever, darlin
