Heavenly Bodies

By mikeygreenleaf

If wishing were a crime
I know I’d die a happy man
For stealing your attention
To serve all the time I can
Locked away forgotten
Still I write you every day
Sending messages in code
I spill my secrets in a way
That would capture undivided
Gazes cast away from me
The screaming in my heart
Can’t simply bear to let it be
That you wouldn’t think about
The fact I wish upon each star
Hoping that the cosmic fallout
Finds exactly where you are
Falling fast, and faster falling
Comets raining from the sky
And these pieces of my universe
Are slow to pass me by
Or is it me that’s moving now
My likeness starts to spin
The whitest light I’ve ever seen
Is shining from within
I promise you that all is fine
This radiance repeats
Trust yourself and you will find
The guide between the beats
