untitled (9-20-15)

By Jessica Orr

they scurried the atoms,
 it was fast and late
 empty streets, blinking lights
 that change
 when mothers walk babies,
 see the loom of foresight
 and a birth of why they
 go on.
 _______

street car racer,
 thinks he so tough,
 acne, toolkit,
 a hottie who doesn't think
 or know the truth;
 across the path,
 discovered a new sight,
 he wasn't as fast as
 shadows latest more.
 _______

a feeling is a warning,
 as night is not visible
 to me;
 please stay a course,
 go to college, be a good girl;
 sweetie,
 life isn't protected out there,
 and no one sees right...

no retreat means something,
 a barrel of those monkeys,
 linked;
 and arms tethered again,
 a chain I see,
 a fortuitous blind woman
 we all are, again
 in pureness lost,
 they may be borne
 to save me.
