Third Son, Back up Husband
By cadymae
His window closed early and fast
and left him on the wrong side of the glass
not even looking out after a while
head down
doing as asked of him
His light glowed dimmer every year
but still lit a wan path
when I met him
leaning against the chain
choking himself against her leash
willingly, gladly, patiently.
He will see her to her end for Dad.

At the beginning this didn't quite make sense to me, but then I read the author notes and it suddenly became clear .... Momma's Boy. Eloquently explained in this poem.
