Hate eats life

By cadymae

It died but we kept feeding it anyway

til it was bigger than us

Mornings came but shone no light on it

It stirred more at dusk

She asked after it repeatedly

We told her it was growing

When it began to smell we walked away

She'll find the key under the mat

She'll let herself in

She won't come back out
