Wicked Reverie

By Mona

Alone I stay
in reverie
make it go away
please stop
the suffering
I cry blank tears
of sunshine and bitter rain

but what am I losing out on
if the wine has been drunk
the way backwards
up the tree
where daylight goes mad
suffering the tears
I cry for a bit of
black melancholia

Alone I stay
Alone I rot
Alone I remain
Have I been forgotten?
By the myriad faces
the disgraceful graceless
the serious eyes
behind masks of clay
painted smiles
thinking of sunshine
make the moon mine

make the pain mine
let's play
my harlot starlet
my sick concubine.

"The way backwards up the tree" - a terrifying proposition to which any cat can attest Mona. You really got into this as it progressed and picked up a momentum of it's own, well done!
