like fire.

By sIo

I

dove like fire
into this marsh
gargling cattails

by gum and lip
spitting tadpoles
and picks

under bite to
undertone
lying faith
as under toe

leapt over me.

dove letters
in bottled ships
eternally to flight

I

dove like fire

into this
