Who Is She?

By mikeygreenleaf

Her nest is made of thorns and nettle
Woven gracefully
I'd tell the most auspicious man to
Handle carefully
Nestled high where few will tread
Heed the warning signs
Of gnarled trees and blackened earth
Where sky and star align
She speaks in riddles, sings in rhymes
Listen for the sound
Of melody and madness echoing
Across the ground

Her nest of thorns and nettle is her home, or perhaps her figurative "home" inside of her own reality. The nettles and thorns sting and cause pain, but they are still her home, perhaps symbolic of the love one can grow for certain pains, to the point that they become wanted, almost safe in a sense. They become like home. I believe the home being woven gracefully is in reference to how on the outside, or in the true reality, everything about her home (or state of mind) seems very nice and graceful, at least from the outside. The warning to the auspicious man is, in my interpretation, a way of saying that she is fragile in her unique state of being, and she should be handled with care for that reason. She is nestled high and away from others because she has grown separate from reality and society as well. The warning signs that she is perhaps unwell are there in the trees and earth, which I think represent the dark reality she has grown into. The sky and stars are both above most of us in our own realities, so that lends evidence to my theory that her difficult and dark reality nonetheless has her in something of an elevated and enlightened state. She speaks in riddles and sings in rhymes because people cannot truly understand her feelings and emotions, they must decode them through her words and actions (the riddles and rhymes). We are told to listen for the sound of melody and madness so that we will be alert for her, and people like her, that we may come across each day without knowing. We must listen, and when we hear the melody and hear the madness, we must not sit idly by, we must act. We must embrace her new reality, and learn from it, for she is no one person, she is many people. She can be anywhere, and she can be anywhere. All we must do is listen. That is my interpretation, sorry for it being so long, but this is what I believe your words are saying. It is a beautifully written work
