Size Matters

By Phalanx

My words push you out into the open.
Dark streaks and sky circles
Leaving shadows in high grass
Calculate risk verses hunger.
We lock eyes between stalks measuring
Weight, distance and reaction time
Knowing in the soul only focus.
There is no morality here.
Your life is my face paint.
My voice I break against my chest
Losing more of myself
In this fight for survival.
