On being a Dad for a Year
By BetaWolfinVA
This time last year we
were on the way from georgia
with our new eleven
month old daughter, my cousin
she is still my greatest joy
.
She's what gives me hope
she helps me get through my days
for three hours i play
until her bath time and bed
and i return back down stairs.
.
i hope this wide world
gives you all the joy it can
none of the sorrows
mommie and daddie love you
very much, let us hold you :)

This is really great. When my dad passed away I was given some old poems he wrote about me when I was still a baby. I never met my dad at any age that I could have remembered him and we only spoke on the phone a few times before he died, but basically what I am getting at is I was almost able to be near to him for the first time when I read him, and it meant a lot. Save these few words you share, because they do mean a lot to the ones they are about.
