. . virid tribulation . .

By NikesRain

too many leaves are falling

i wonder what sadness fills the trees

that they cry in such vehemence

to shed their arms so bare

the birds do not seem to realize

they're feeding from empty hands

reaching in all their sun burned melancholy

for more torture through the day

others see only the drifting down

through a summer blue sky

i see sorrow

too heavy to be held any longer

  my heart aches

at the possibility

This was so calming. I'm sitting on my front porch while reading this and the sound of the rustling leave just seemed...fitting.

...the way of nature. foliage diminishes, sorrow builds, & the days pass too soon. too soon...

I just literally sighed. I sighed at the thought of leaves falling before their time and I saw them already starting to fall on my way home from church. beautiful.

This made my heart yearn, but it's written so beautifully like soft whispers. Scholar
