on the road to salvation

By anathema

I've spent some time discovering
The path to righteousness
After many sinful years
Enjoying wickedness
But all that had to end when
It began to take its toll-
Now Jesus is the bobblehead
On the dashboard of my soul.

Now I may not be a rich man
Living in the biggest home
And the miseries I've suffered
Could quickly fill a tome
But I give all I have
To the church collection bowl
Cause Jesus is the bobblehead
On the dashboard of my soul.

Since I found the Christian Right
I've worn the Bible Belt
And I've been telling EVERYONE
The sorrow that I've felt
For not realizing sooner
What would make my spirit whole-
Jesus as the bobblehead
On the dashboard of my soul!

Now it's my sacred duty
To save the ones I meet
Explain to them God's glory
Inside or on the street
Explain no matter how far they've dug
They can escape the hole
With Jesus as the bobblehead
On the dashboard of their soul.

I'll keep handing out pamphlets
And telling them the Word
I'll even beat it into them
To make sure that I'm heard
And when I'm burning witches
You might *think* I've lost control-
But it's really just Love and Jesus
On the dashboard of my soul.
