The Closure

By saltyman65

Breaking up;
                        Subtle,
                                       Like a brick through a window.

 Painless;
                    As salt in a wound….a rapier though the heart.

To die is easy,

To end is death…..Silence is golden on baited breath.

Sorrow is forgotten tomorrow,
                                                    time stands still till then.

The rooster crows no more.

                                             The
                                                       curtain
                                                                     descends…..for a proper closure,
                                                                                          but not an untimely

                                                                                                       end.

My relationship ended recently and it was painless. I was very numb to it. Although in my times of lonliness i do miss her. Your poem reminds me of that day in so many ways. I believe this is what it's all about, reaching and toughing others through words.

    even real oldies, when they're good, still retain their feel and effect.... nicely done, old or not....a lot said and on point
