Glissade

By BetaWolfinVA

i've been a day dream believer
- loosing my innocence but never my love
i've been in the darkness, found joy
- only to find that it was just absence of sorrow
i've ridden the edge of dreams
- and found that remembrances of old lost true love
were enough to drag me from imagined happiness
-
i'm trying to build a life for my little girl
- for she is my hope in the future
i'm unsure that my life should continue
- justice for an accidental predator
i'm certain i committed a crime somewhere
- i appear to have fallen twixt the cracks
but the only punishment was a broken mind

This was great! Not what I expected but still I loved it. The first stanza was beautiful and the second was piercing and slightly scary. I'm still pondering the last few lines of the poem now...
