Undressing on the way in

By cadymae

I could borrow some sorrow from tomorrow but
today is going to be sad enough.
because last night still shakes within

Leftover red-ness from her too-short dress is in my eyes.
Leftover rum under my tongue.
God know what's in my crotch.

At least the crazy phone isn't ringing
and the sane phone has no messages
and I know I paid the rent.

I'll sleep the sleep of the released

I hope the styptic closes her scratches
The landlady hates blood on the pillowcases.

I hope she never graduates to the sane-phone.

An intriguing analysis of the temporary insanity we all exhibit on occasion, when the beast is free to roam. The recriminations will only last until the next time. Be well lady and cheers, this was uniquely you!
