Naked Moon
By FadedBlues
sing me your song, Moon.
your sad song, reserved for defeated
soldiers like me, defender of every
sorrow, every lost cause.
there will be no Chanson d’Amour on these
starless nights. I’m done hearing of love, in
French or any language. cry your tears like
wine, make me drunk and forgetful.
goddess and singular liege of the skies, are
you too imperial, too pure to be loved? do I
come to you to learn how to prevail with that
same emptiness? am I that pitiful?
shine there, vain and omnipotent,
as if you know all my secrets…
how can you be so proud? you have not
even a robe to cover your nakedness.

i've known many a night that i've thought and felt the same way.... the unspoken prayer... too weary to be too bitter, too lonely to cry, feeling injustice for not having a pure love and soulmate beside you to hold hands and watch the stars unfold. elegaic, lamenting, filled with regret and grace.. a defeated man... yet still you can feel the moon's tragically romantic pull and raise your head to observe it divinity. there is hope yet.

Loneliness is a physical pain and words only make it worse. Except here, your words painted a perfect pic. Nice FB. Cool. Later -

The robe is at the discretion of the sun's luminosity and the earth's shadow as you well know FB - marvelous simile on an often promoted but seldom derided subject, just superb in the loneliness beyond the pale, cheers!
