You are an instance of hope
In the darkest sea.
I searched for you
And for that instance.
But I could not find you,
And I could not find the sea.

So I doubted myself,
And I doubted your existence.
I doubted this world
And the passing of time.

But I never doubted
I never doubted the sea.

Ah, I didn't know that about Cummings, I thing it's very true actually, especially for someone living on the Mediterranean like myself. Thank you for the reference.
