I fell in love with an alphabet
its all accent marks and its all
cute-cryptic
living letters in
evolving font fingernails
arial skirts
and roman slack
jawing at one another
smothered in twangs and
regional thangs
and the vowels fell away
that day
and i lost the
heiroglyphics
from our caveheart ways
a broken alphabet
its scalpel sounds and
kafka conjugation
uncomf
orta
ble
pauses and
asterisks and ampersands.
come to speak again with me
forget the etymology
