7 lbs of Flesh [collaboration with Rain In The Willows]
By Ravenblade
Deprivation of soul
defamation
of longing for.
Emptiness filling what I need
succumb to loneliness
in warmth.
biting on iron bars
forcing foreign tongued
trepidation
around the metal in my.mouth
spilling forth like
tacks
on tendered flesh
All I've had
torn away
all my muscle
stripped from bone
sociopathy spewing forth
bile to fill the void
known as soul
shrouded in walls
of inadequacy
riding the comets fearlessly
into sweet oblivion
embracing the dark tendrils
of weakness and.obsession
Fed
up with failure
molon labe babe;
take your fill
from my
blood
as I shed the burden
that is...
this
grasping hands like ivy
sweet smelling
poison
tippe lullabyes
anchoring ankles to the dust
flowering
beautiful
disease
in hues.of.blue and purple

for some reason, the 7 lbs of flesh evoked "closest to your heart" could be a reference to the will smith movie and the 7 debts, or the original "pound of flesh" from Merchant of Venice where the Money Lender Shylock attempts to kill Antonio by demanding a rather specific forfeit.... not quite what was evoked in the poem, but it was a good ride

The title suggested a baby maybe, but if so, it sounds like something was amiss, not sure. Enigmatic but enjoyable, thanks.
