Creek-side Consultation

By lupus tenebrae

Goddess of the creek,
her pristine, amber furrows,
indeed scintillate.

Like embers at night,
and the shiftless desert sands,
sunset refraction.

Our conversations,
are fleeting consultations,
one-sided prattle.

They are eternal,
like a drag from cigarettes,
and I’m addicted.

Sometimes their language and return I almost fathom, breathing in ivy's curling sentences back at them and feeling with my inner sense their babbling wisdoms. Nature is nothing if not an addiction, poetry that has no sure tongue but the deep deep wonder within. Lovely.

Any conversations with nature are one-sided but deeply understood...I think...I liked this..inspired reflection in me.

  • A former member wrote: Hah! I often have one-sided conversations with the creeks flowing through across my countryside. A good idea might be to bond with the stream, get down in there & know it, up to your neck...perhaps the water.flow will prevent you from smoking ;) Another cool little piece, Jared, thank you.

The way you describe things as simple as water turns it into something profound and beautiful. Scholar
