Destroyer of Worlds
By Melancholic VIncent
The emptiness of the universe
Swallows the look of my eyes
Drunk
with lethargy
I surrender to it's voracious gluttony
My tepid
body
Soon gets colder
Disperces the warmth of life
The
vacuum absorbs it ungratefully
My innocent eyes still have
a glimpse of breath
WIth no delay it burns out completely
Impotent
mirror of water
Reflects the powerful cosmo
Absorbs my numb
spirit
In a vortex of imense loneliness
Seduced by distant stars
It's shine is a hidden trick
Travels for milions of light-years
But it's star is extinguished for aeons ago
Devoured in a abyss
of eternal darkness
What remains is a picture of ancient clarity
Arrives at earth in the vain hope of escaping
Of the desolation
that debauchered humanity
I became one with the universe
I can feel it's insaciable hunger
The curse of infinity and eternity
I witnessed the fear of galaxies
Imprisioned in the imensity
Of the voracious spaceĀ

The universe as one person, filled with emptiness, eating stars and planets to feel his void inside. If the universe was one soul, it would feel miserable.

...nice research on this. I'm sure the other planets in the universe are keeping an eye on us & our unholy weapons...

I guess a lot of people know the Oppenheimer quote and the Manhattan Project. It's all over History Channel and stuff. Though, only the title is about that, the poem itself doesn't regard that subject

Thanks for your comment. Then my objective is complete. It's great when one can create that effect with one poem.
