Love vol. II

By daiglepoems

Love is just a four letter word
that lives on a fork tipped tongue.
It's meaning ambiguous,
conceprt absurd.
It's mother's the iron lung.

I've been in love many times before
surviving them worse for wear.
I hope to someday even the score
with a maneating Kodiak bear

with rings on it's fingers.
Bells on it's toes.
A couple of cubs to feed.
One of those rings went right through my nose.
with a long titanium lead.

Crazy I may be.
Stupid I'm not.
Been mauled by a bear before.
I carry the scars and the lesson they taught
along with a Colt .44.
