Mock on, Dank Raven

By Poe Etiquette

Au contraire, Voltaire Rousseau

You mock the stalk that still doth grow

By stooping to its sacrilege

You make yourself a mirror image

By bland attacks that lack the facts

Written hastily and lax

Your words fall silently; invisibly

Influence not the words of me

Formed boldly in a caps lock tone

Your doctrine nurses you, alone

Apply thy verses to thy state

This pompous spirit, satiate

Apply thy wisdom to thy pen

And wisdom may be born, again

But still your words of tactless charm

Fail to extract a mite of harm

I don't know what's going on but I gather there was DP spat somewhere. It doesn't matter. It is always a pleasure and privelege to read something that's tight with rhyme and meter. Especially when there's a lace of sweet venom in every line.

As opposed as I am to this seemingly endless volley of insults, this one actually took some modicum of effort and intellect. I would stir up some relevant debate on this matter, but I just managed to crawl out of the fire, so I'll just acknowledge this piece and leave it at that. Scholar
