. . Atë Prodigy II. .
By NikesRain
oh so innocent are her eyes
such pools of beseeching
poison
asking love and understanding
vanity stained
lips wanting need
with a needing to be wanted
but
just remember your place
only ever on her terms
give
her your all or nothing
and never ask for anything
for she collects your hearts like stars
for her own little
universe
basking in her false frailty
hiding a heart
of lead caressing
so free and tempting she speaks
putting
words together with venom glue
lies painted in monet brush strokes
from a distance it all seems perfect
colors of tears
and hardship
such white washed sorrow
spilling infecting
like a vice
to entice all to gather her up cherished
upon closer inspection more like dali
a mass of melting corrosion
chaotic and twisted with greed
narcissus hidden in the
lines
she claims broken dreams
but she dreams all
to be broken
to bend to her desire
spin tight about
her finger
trapped in her snare
by a smile and a
kiss

This really resonated with me..I love the art references, the innocent appearance in the first couple of lines which then turned dali-like and twisted..very beautiful.

A warning that drips with menace. I like the Dali reference. Horrific to look closer. "she claims broken dreams but she dreams all to be broken..." wicked write. Thank you for the top shelf poetry. Your words always shine, Doe.
