The Path Less Traveled, Revised

The Path Less Traveled

Looking through the broken glass-

At something which is torn-

My spirit silently asleep;

It shall not be reborn.

The Mirror standing shattered still-

Reflects an image of myself-

Yet can’t recall what once was lost-

But still I drink to better health-

A price too high for me to pay-

Was what I had to charge-

But maybe the reason I lost what I had-

Is because I just tried too hard-

This photograph recalls a time-

When all my life with bliss-

But in the end I realize:

I was not meant for this-

That road that is the way to Light-

And the road that leads to darkness-

Neither of which my soul may walk-

I’m kind of happy that I’m so heartless-

This new road I’ve been left to pave-

Lies along a horrible path-

But I hope that someday before I do die-

I might just get back to those good times I had.

Nice. To pave ones own path although it may lead to undesirable results. Good write.

Reminiscent of Robert Frost's "The Road Not Taken". You'll be fine as long as you keep to the high road (no pun intended) - Thanks for this.
